reading response on critical question

question: is this story fair ?why/why not

the story in my book is not fair.the book is called "the mocking jay" by Suzanne Collins. this story in the book isn't fair because people from district 12 and 13 wanted there right but the capitol isn't hearing them out.now the capitol is bombing district 12 because katniss had survive the hunger games and ever since then they have always wanted her dead.all katniss wanted was to fight against the capitol because of their selfish ways they made 24 people fight to the death for the capitols entertainment.the president is selfish , he doesn't Care for the others that have family. he was the one who wanted katniss dead because she was the one person who stood up for herself and it gave her a voice and that inspired other districts.the districts who rebelled against the capitol finally felt the have a voice and the president cant stand that  which is unfair because every one deserves a right to speak and be heard.

Reading response based on question

In the book the "Mocking Jay" by Suzanne Collins is a fictional book but has a social issue that happens in our world. This book is about a district that has rebelled against the Capitol .The Capitol is the main kind of city that rules over all the districts. The people who have rebelled are in hiding because the Capitol plan on killing them. This shows that they have no voice, freedom of speech.Even though we have freedoms of speech , but we don't really have a voice.
When some people have ideas they aren't heard. People aren't heard because of who they are of what their reputation is. For example if a little girl has an idea for something and wanted to tell an adult they might not pay attention because she is a young girl. This happens in lots of businesses , like if an intern has great ideas but the Boss won't care cause they think that the intern will not have a great idea because he/she plays a smaller role in the business. This happens everywhere all the time.
This may seem like a small problem but its everywhere , in jobs, school, and streets. This can also hurt the person not getting heard ,feelings.

reading response for an article on hurricane sandy

In the article "Panicked Evacuations Mix with Nonchalance in Hurricane Sandy's Path" by Cara Buckley in the New York Times , she wrote about how many people were taking their life at risk.People in so called Zone-A which is Battery Park City in Manhattan, Red Hook,Coney Island and parts of Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights in Brooklyn; City Island in the Bronx; and the Rockaways in Queens to evacuate. Many people that lives in those locations were reluctant to evacuate. They believed that because they made a big fuss about evacuating during the hurricane Irene and nothing big really happened ,that this time they were doing the same. Some people however were panicking like crazy. they would crazily call for taxis and sometimes yelled at others who tried to jump ahead of them.
During hurricane Irene everyone made a big fuss about everything and nothing much had happened. 27 year, John Miller said "Last time they made such a big hype out of it and nothing happened". I think though that people should still be cautious about it because what if something bad does happen, you don't know if your gonna be safe ,and you cant tell the future.Like many have said, its better to be safe then sorry.
Sometimes people get to panicky and when they do they tend to get pretty violent. Ann Persaud, owner of the south 7 citgo station in new Milford said"Everyone is panicky - oh my God, they bring in any kind of container they can think of and fill it up with gas!". I think people should calm down because if they take as much gas as they can and that they don't really need it then the others that do need it might not have gas. The reason why they might not have gas is because maybe the gas station runs out of gas.Even though you might think that its better to have it just in case, it is but others need to be able to leave and so you can't be selfish.
In the future I think we all need to learn how to be safe and prepared for anything and also learn how to be calm in hectic situations. If we work together maybe everyone could be safe.

reading response 5

In the book "The Truth About Forever" by Sarah Dessen , macy is a girl who lost her father.she has a boyfriend named Jason who went to brain camp and then broke up with her after a few days he was away. She started a new job at a catering called Wish.As she continues to work there she starts to realize that she hasn't been the same and living since her father died and Jason broke up with her.Macy felt lonely and dead in way like she never really hangs out with her friends and do what a normal teenager would do.
In the begining I think macy never actually sink in the idea that her father had passed away. She felt alone after her father died so I guess she never really thought about it and distracted herself with a job at the libary in the days and a catering job as a waitress in the nights. In the book Wes said to macy " Sorry about your dad" and she thought to herself "I felt something catch my throat, a sudden urge of sadness that caught me unaware, almost taking my breath away."This shows that she knew that her father had passed away but she never really took the time to sink in.
when she is working at wish, she meets one of the waiters called Wes.She doesnt really know how she feels about him but i think she actually likes him.when wes was walking over to macy she thought to herself "I felt that looseness something inside me coming undone".she was feeling nervous because Wes was coming over which probably meant that she was attracted to him.
Many people loose family members all the time and then they have those moments that they feel so lonely and like nothing in the world would ever make you happy again just like macy untill she met wes and other friends.

My Favorite Reading Responses

One of my favorite reading respons was sandra pacheco's.she read a book called Make lemonade by Virginia Euwer Wolff. I liked how she first explain to the audience who her main charcters are.She then gives a breif review of the characters background. After that she goes abnd tells the audience the problems they have and explains it in good detail. She also gave examples of how one of her characters helped the other character.

My second favorite reading response was Maddy De La Cruz.Maddy read the book A Long Walk to Water. One of the things that i liked about maddy's reading response was that she explained to the audience how the book was read, like she said it was from two different point of views. Then she went on to explain the situation and how the characters were connected.she described the settings andshe described hoe the story ended.

Reading Response

The Hunger Games was an amazing book.It was fun and exciting. The book was about a girl named Katniss who was entered in The Hunger Games for her district, there are 12 district and she was in the 12 th district. The Hunger Games is a fight to the death. The people who are picked to fight are picked randomly ,they pick two people from each district from the jar(one boy and one girl).Katniss and Peeta(peeta is the bakery's son)are picked for district 12.
After they are sent to the capital the have a makeover to get ready for thier interview. Each person is interviewed in front of the audience, but as Peeta went up he showed everyone his long love for Katniss. As they enter the arena(the place where they fight to the death),Peeta teams up with Katniss and he continues to show  the love for Katniss. In the end it was just them two but only one can survive! Well Peeta loves Katniss so he said she should kill him but Katniss couldnt so they said if they both cant survive then they both will die together. The creator's of the game couldn't let them both die or else they wont have a winner so, they decide they can both survive.
